“For me, finding a job I’d enjoy was the most important thing. Previously I’ve been a self-employed plasterer for nearly 30 years. I had a shoulder injury which put a stop to this, and I had to find any job I could. This didn’t work for me and led to me leaving a role which I wasn’t happy in.

I spoke with my physio, who referred me to a job coach. We put a plan together about what work I was interested in and which fit well with my strengths.”

“Being back in work has given me a great sense of wellbeing.”

“I applied for a job working as a wood recycling assistant at a local social enterprise. I didn’t expect to get an interview, but I did! I went along and it just felt right. I was offered the job and have been working for over a month now.

Being back in work has given me a great sense of wellbeing. I’ve been able to treat my family to meals out. I feel I’m somebody and I’m getting paid to do something I enjoy, which is giving me a perfect work life balance. After some struggles, I’m feeling content and looking forward to the future.”
